NEW YORK CITY—NAI Hanson has facilitated a long-term lease on 84,400 square feet of industrial space for its client, Plated, at 511 Barry St. in the Bronx. The tenant—an increasingly popular food home-delivery service—agreed to take the space for 62 months.

SVP Barry Cohorsky represented Plated in the transaction. CBRE SVPs John Reinertsen and Timothy Sheehan represented the landlord, Baldor Specialty Foods, for the lease.

Plated is a weekly subscription-based service that provides boxes of fresh, seasonal, pre-portioned ingredients and chef-designed recipes for customers to prepare meals at home. The company was looking for a space to accommodate its expanding business as the healthy eating trend continues to grow.

“We identified a number buildings in both New York and New Jersey to visit in order to find the best solution for Plated,” says Cohorsky. “Of all the inventory we looked at, 511 Barry offered the best combination of size, location and technical capacity—specifically refrigeration.”

Located off of the Bruckner Expressway, the site provides easy access to several major highways, including the Major Deegan and Cross Bronx Expressways as well as the Bronx River Parkway.
