LOS ANGELES—The long-awaited premier pocket park in Downtown Los Angeles, which features the city's tallest living wall, has officially opened at Rising Realty Partners' PacMutual Campus. The pocket park and 80-foot living wall are across the street from Pershing Square and is home to French bakery Pitchoun Bakery, the first eatery directly adjacent to Pershing Square.
“Our Green Wall is a unique feature to Los Angeles. We're proud of the ingenuity and teamwork required to pull this off,” Chris Rising, president and COO of Rising Realty Partners, tells GlobeSt.com. He adds that the living wall was inspired by French architect Patrick Blanc, who is known for his vertical plant gardens. “This concept perfectly pairs with an authentic French bakery and restaurant with a vibrant outdoor dining area,” he says.
The 80-foot LiveWall features water saving technologies such as drip irrigation, and native California plants that need little water for survival, further saving water. Take a look at the photos of the new downtown landmark below.

This is not the first milestone for the building. Last year, PacMutual became the first and only historic building in Los Angeles to achieve a LEED-Platinum certification. The property was built in 1908 and had additions in 1921 and 1926.
