NEW YORK CITY—Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher has hired Victoria Shusterman as a partner. Formerly with Katten Muchin Rosenman, Shusterman will continue to focus on real estate finance transactions.

“We are pleased to welcome Vicky to the firm,” says Ken Doran, chairman and managing partner of Gibson Dunn. “Our New York real estate practice has never been busier, and Vicky, a highly respected and talented real estate attorney, will be a tremendous addition to the practice.”

“We are thrilled to bring Vicky on board,” adds real estate practice group co-chair Eric Feuerstein. “She possesses outstanding technical skills and is widely recognized as a creative and thoughtful transactional lawyer. She also has substantial experience in real estate finance, an area of our real estate practice that has grown most rapidly in the last five years, and will be a valuable resource for our lending clients.”

“I am excited to be joining the firm,” says Shusterman. “This is a terrific opportunity to join an exceptional team, and I am thrilled to be able to develop my practice on such a broad and strong platform.”

Shusterman focuses her practice on commercial real estate finance. She represents commercial banks, REITs, insurance companies and private equity investors in commercial real estate financing transactions and investments, including balance sheet financings; permanent and bridge loan originations; mezzanine financing and other subordinate financings; construction loans; loan participation, syndications and other co-lender arrangements; and work-outs and restructurings.

She also has handled real estate investments across the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean, including multi-state portfolio transactions involving financing of the acquisition of hotel portfolios and multifamily apartment complexes.
