LOS ANGELES—Wells Fargo has named Eric Gunderson as a regional manager of its CMBS originations team. In the role, Gunderson will oversee originations in the Southwest region, which includes Los Angeles, Southern California, Southern Nevada and Arizona. He will be based in the company's Los Angeles office, and will report to managing director and national originations director Wayne Brandt.

“It's a great honor to lead the team here in LA. Wells Fargo has been providing CMBS and balance sheet lending solutions for commercial real estate owners in this area for a long time,” Gunderson tells GlobeSt.com. “We've seen tremendous growth in the past several years and look forward to serving the needs of the commercial real estate industry for years to come.”

Gunderson joined Wells Fargo in 2010 as a director of originating CMBS loans, and previously served as managing director of originating CMBS loans for the Los Angeles market. In his storied 15-year career, he has also held senior-level positions at Credit Suisse, RBS Greenwich Capital and Bear Stearns.

Wells Fargo has a robust CMBS originations team in Los Angeles. Last year, it helped secure $37.7 million in funding for BH Properties, and the CMBS market in general has only continued to grow since last year, from both institutional and fixed-income sides of the table. Low interest rates have helped to fuel this demand, and even if the fed increases them, cap rates will remain relatively low, driving investors to CMBS sources that offer better yields than the treasuries.
