MIAMI—Related Group is making headway with its master-planned mixed-use development in Doral, FL. In partnership with Shoma Homes, CityPlace Doral—the second installment of the CityPlace theme—will feature 600,000 square feet of retail space and 1,000 residents.

Designed by Arquitectonica, CityPlace Doral's entertainment retail complex broke ground in March. First-class national and local tenants anchor the project, which is already over 50% pre-leased. Over 30 dining, shopping, and entertainment venues will ultimately populate the complex. Related also developed CityPlace in West Palm Beach.

“CityPlace will allow Doral's residents and visitors alike to enjoy a contemporary village atmosphere, pedestrian-friendly walkways, outdoor cafes and open-air common areas for the first time,” says Steve Patterson, president of Related Development. “The dynamic mix of high-end retail and elegant living options within walking distance of one another creates a thriving, downtown cityscape for the perfect balance between endless recreation choices by day, and lively entertainment by night.”

Over 60 retailers are joining the project. wSome of the notable tenants include grocer Fresh Market, which competes with Whole Foods; CinéBistro-Cobb Theatre, which features first-run movies as well as independent films and offers high-back leather rocking chairs and full service in-theatre dining; and Kings bowling with its 20,000-plus square foot entertainment facility featuring over a dozen 10-pin bowling lanes, multiple premium bars, a full-service restaurant.

CityPlace Doral's residential component will include Oasis Park Square, a single-family community made up of 150 million-dollar-plus luxury homes with the first move-ins set for February. There is also Manor at CityPlace, a 394-unit multifamily project which opened its doors to residents late last year. Over 200 apartments already leased. Finally, The Flats urban midrise multifamily rentals, with completion set for 2015 and the Courtyards condominiums set to break ground in 2016.
