NEW YORK CITY—Madison International Realty has appointed Andrew Schaffler to the newly-created position of director, listed real estate securities. Based here, he will oversee all aspects of the firm's public markets investing activities.

“Andrew brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and industry contacts in the global real estate securities sector that will be of great benefit as we further institutionalize our public markets investment activities,” says Ronald M. Dickerman, Madison founder and president. “Our track record of investments in REITs and listed property companies is exceptional. Andrew's multi-dimensional skill set will allow us to build on the success we've demonstrated and further differentiate our platform. We are delighted to announce this exciting addition to our team.”

Schaffler joins Madison from Cohen & Steers Capital Management, where he spent nine years on the portfolio management team, including five years on a long/short real estate hedge fund. Previously, he served as an analyst in the fund portfolio analytics group of Neuberger Berman.
