No doubt about it, Apple is extraordinary; the epitome of creativity, innovation, and timeless design. Apple charted new courses with the iPod, the iPhone, the iPad, and now the Apple Watch. Apple also pioneered the move to digital music with iTunes downloads. Alas, the party is over on the music front.

Apple admitted on Monday that it is a Johnny-come-lately with its rollout of Apple Music, a latecomer on the music streaming front, attempting to catch-up with Spotify. Apple Music signals that Apple has been in limbo and has lost its edge, once the innovator and now the laggard.

On the back of your iphone and ipad the inscription proudly states that the device was Designed by Apple in California and Assembled in China. Perhaps your Apple Music App will say Designed by Spotify in the UK and Copied by Apple in California. Steve Jobs we miss ya.
