MORRISTOWN, NJ—Commercial real estate services industry veteran Shawn Straka has joined Cushman & Wakefield's Morristown office as senior director. A corporate tenant representation specialist, he has more than 15 years of experience and expertise in the New Jersey market, and has completed over six million square feet in regional transactions.

In his new role, Straka is providing strategic consulting, project coordination, site selection and transaction management services. “Shawn has an outstanding track record of helping his clients reduce occupancy costs and align their real estate strategies with operational and business goals,” says Cushman & Wakefield's Andrew Judd, director, New Jersey Operations. “He is a perfect addition to our team as we work to provide the best solutions for New Jersey's tenant base.”

Straka has completed several significant transactions for well-known companies like SHI International, Dr. Reddy's Laboratories, Ferring Pharmaceuticals, Affinity Federal Credit Union, Daewoo International, Baxter Healthcare and Travelers Insurance. Before his move to Cushman & Wakefield, he served as senior vice president at Jones Lang LaSalle, which he joined following its merger with The Staubach Company, his prior employer.

“There is a significant change in the corporate workplace strategy to accommodate the trend toward collaborative, lifestyle-focused environments,” says Straka. “The Cushman & Wakefield platform provides vast resources that help clients navigate these changes and position themselves to attract the best talent, increase productivity and maximize operational efficiency. This is a firm with a great reputation and a great presence in New Jersey and worldwide.”

Straka previously was with Coldwell Banker Commercial and Citibank Global Asset Management, and he has been recognized multiple times with in-house and brokerage industry awards. He holds a BA in finance from Rider University and a Master's in management from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
