MIAMI—Italkraft, a Miami-based, full-service Italian kitchen, bathroom, and closet design and installation company, has made its way into most of the Miami luxury condo projects underway today. In fact, the company claims 60% of the business in South Florida.

What's behind this success? GlobeSt.com caught up with Raul Gutierrez, a strategic partner at Italkraft, to get some answers.

GlobeSt.com: What sets Italkraft apart from competitors in such a diverse market like South Florida? What keeps developers coming back to your firm?

Gutierrez: Construction and development is very much a relationship-based business. What sets Italkraft apart is definitely our know-how, superior quality and attention to detail—but that's not what keeps developers coming back. They come back because of the confidence they have that Italkraft will not only see the project to completion in the agreed time frame but that we do not leave the project until every party involved is 100% satisfied.

GlobeSt.com: Can you expand on future plans for Italkraft's expansion in the South East? Do you think that other markets will have the same reaction as Miami?

Gutierrez: We have been making our way up the South Florida coast. We recently opened two showrooms—one in Aventura and another in Fort Lauderdale.

We are seeing many Miami developers starting projects further north and taking Italkraft with them, as well as many opportunities in additional markets including New York, DC, and Houston. Our retail stores are also performing well.

GlobeSt.com: Are you working on any international projects?

Gutierrez: We just completed a private residence in Jamaica and have a few more in the works in the Caribbean.

GlobeSt.com: What is the strategy behind Italkraft's business model that has proven to be so successful?

Gutierrez: Customer service and satisfaction. We meet with all our clients ourselves during some point during the design process as well as the installation.

We are always abreast with new technology, design and implementing better systems. We have formed strategic partnerships throughout the years of operation, and they are maintained by valuing our team members—we are successful because of them.

GlobeSt.com: Do you have recommendations for the young entrepreneurs in the field of luxury kitchen design and development?

Gutierrez: It's important to know your market, don't ever sacrifice quality to reach a certain price point as it will prove detrimental to your business. Be involved in every aspect of your company and put your customer first always.
