NEW YORK CITY—Looking to grow its mergers & acquisitions services as well as its expertise in private equity, CohnReznick has named principals Margaret Shanley of the accounting firm's transaction and advisory services practice and Jeremy Swan of the company's private equity and venture capital industry practice as leaders of their respective disciplines, with Swan taking on additional responsibility for leading the mergers & acquisitions consulting services practice.

The move comes in response to growth of the firm's M&A and private equity services—and the increased M&A activity among middle-market businesses—prompting an acceleration of CohnReznick's investment and focus in these service lines.

“Since joining the firm less than two years ago, Margaret has been highly successful in developing our transaction advisory practice on the West Coast and has led some of the firm's most important clients through complex transactions,” says Keith Denham, managing principal and national director of CohnReznick Advisory Group. “Margaret is a brand name in the transaction advisory space and this expertise, combined with her commitment to developing and advancing our professionals, will help to bring the practice to new heights.”

“Through his work with the Private Equity and Venture Capital Industry Practice, Jeremy has grown one of the Firm's core industry groups and is our go-to resource on issues related to private equity,” adds Dom Esposito, a CohnReznick partner and the firm's national practice and growth director.

Shanley has more than 15 years of professional experience and is known as an industry leader in transaction advisory, assisting strategic and financial buyers and lenders in the performance of financial and business due diligence on platform, add-on acquisitions, and carve out transactions as well as preparing sellers for buyer due diligence and maximizing seller value.

Also boasting more than 15 years of experience advising both emerging private companies and large corporations, Swan has extensive knowledge of investment banking and private equity, providing advisory services in areas that include mergers and acquisitions, IPO readiness, financing transactions, and operational and financial due diligence.

In his role leading M&A consulting services, he will work closely with the transactional advisory services team, focusing on providing pre- and post-transaction consulting services. He is also the firm's liaison to CohnReznick Capital Markets Securities, a subsidiary of CohnReznick.
