SAN FRANCISCO–Alan Bear and Ginn Downing have joined Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group as managing directors in the firm's recently opened San Francisco office. This new office offers clients access to additional sources of capital and a larger audience of real estate owners and developers seeking to raise capital.

Patrick Hanlon, who oversees the San Francisco market as a principal of Ackman-Ziff, tells GlobeSt.com: “Northern California has consistently been one of our best market outside of New York, due to dynamic fundamentals of the market, coupled with our capacity to work with the most sophisticated owners in the region; the opening of our permanent office in San Francisco concurrent with the hiring of superior local talent is a testament to our commitment to the market and will enhance our ability to serve our clients' structured debt and joint venture equity requirements for the long term.”

A CPA by training, Bear began his real estate career at an investment group and his strength for structuring deals and mirroring the right partners together, from a capital and operational side, evolved from there.

"The leadership at Ackman-Ziff has set up a platform for success from the start. It's incredibly powerful to have them behind what Ginn and I are doing. Our foundation is to have fun, sharing its expertise and do good things for business and our communities," said Bear. “The new offices will provide customized real estate capital solutions to owners and developers throughout the West Coast, including the Pacific Northwest and Denver, filling the need for sophisticated capital markets professionals to work with great companies."

For more than 90 years, Ackman-Ziff Real Estate Group, a boutique capital advisory firm specializing in debt financing, mezzanine financing, preferred equity, joint venture equity and investment sales, has provided creative capital solutions to real estate investors and developers. Its professionals continue to discover new techniques and structures for raising capital.
