NEW YORK CITY—A professional network site reportedly is doubling its footprint here at one of the city's most iconic buildings.

LinkedIn is more than doubling its offices at the Empire State Building, taking a total of 280,000 square feet, according to the New York Post. The employment social network will add about 120,000 square feet with the addition of the third and 26th floor. It currently occupies four floors—22, 23, 25 and 28—for a total of 135,000 square feet, along with parts of other floors.

Asking rents were in the low to mid-$60s for the large base floors. Sacha Zarba of CBRE represented the tenant in the expansion. A spokesperson for the real estate services firm declined to comment.

The third floor was made available as Li & Fung consolidates its global brands operations. The space had been up for sublease through a JLL team but LinkedIn completed its transaction directly with Ryan Kass of Empire State Realty Trust, the real estate investment trust that owns the giant tower, sources tell the Post, along with its Newmark Grubb Knight Frank leasing team. NGKF could not be reached by press time.
