At AssetAvenue, he will be responsible for leading the company's financial management and accounting functions and advising on corporate finance strategies to achieve the next phase of growth.
Most recently, Coleman has served as CFO for several technology start-ups, including FuHu, the consumer electronics maker of the Nabi tablet, and LOYAL3 HOLDINGS, Inc., a financial technology company that leverages social technologies to democratize the capital markets. At LOYAL3, Coleman had direct responsibility for building the finance, accounting, HR, regulatory and general operations departments and played a key role in the company's raising $60 million through a total of four primary rounds.
“Peter's regulatory, compliance, accounting control and financial management experience combined with his investment banking background will be invaluable to us,” said David
Manshoory, CEO and co-founder of AssetAvenue. “He will be an essential member of our management team as we focus on growing the company and building out our suite of services that make it easier for borrowers to manage their loan as well as having a best-in-class asset management and servicing platforms for investors.”
Prior to joining LOYAL3, Coleman was CFO at Merriman Holdings, Inc., from 2008 to 2012, where he executed the financial and operational turnaround of the publicly-traded financial services firm. He also served concurrently as CEO of Merriman's primary subsidiary, Merriman Capital, Inc. Earlier in his career, he was an equity research analyst covering the application software industry for Charles Schwab and Bank of America. Coleman has a Business Administration degree from the University of San Diego.
“I'm excited to join the AssetAvenue team,” Coleman said. “The company has quickly established itself as an innovator and leader within the fintech space and dedicated itself to rethinking the current lending model for the real estate industry. I look forward to contributing my expertise and skills to help the company achieve the next stage of growth.”
