NEWPORT BEACH, CA—A US Bankruptcy Court has ordered two auctions for the sale of 120 properties, most of them related to the bankruptcy of the The Roman Catholic Diocese of Gallup, NM.

Todd Good, CEO/president of Accelerated Marketing Group and Hank Amos, CEO/president of Tucson Realty & Trust Co. appointed agents in the case announced the details of the auction Monday, noting that the diocese properties are to be sold regardless of price, by order of US bankruptcy Judge David Thuma. The first auction will be September 12, at the Downtown Sheraton Phoenix Hotel. The offering will include 32 properties located throughout Arizona. Nineteen of the properties are part of the bankruptcy auction offering.

Additionally, there will be 13 properties from other sellers, including National Bank of Arizona, Golden Eagle Distributors and other private sellers. The second auction will be conducted on September 19 at the Airport Sheraton, Albuquerque Airport. The New Mexico offering includes 100 properties located in nine counties. All the court-ordered Diocese of Gallup properties are being offered regardless of price, with no reserves and not subject to court approval.

Covering 53 parishes in a geographic area of more than 55,000 square miles, Gallup ranks as the poorest diocese in the United States, according to media reports. The diocese filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2013 due to mounting debt from lawsuits related to child sexual abuse by members of its clergy.
