ATLANTA—Peachtree Center is one of Atlanta's most iconic developments. It has been at the center of Atlanta business since it launched.

Managed by Banyan Street Capital, the building has a three-tiered retail mall and many other amenities that are turning heads. And one of the Atlanta's world-class conference hotels is connected to the office tower by covered sky bridges.

GlobeSt.com caught up with Kay Younglove, who along with David Horne and Michael Werner represents the JLL leasing team for Peachtree Center, to get her thoughts on the elements that make it stand out. For starters, she tells GlobeSt.com, Peachtree Center is a cornerstone of Downtown Atlanta.

“Being such a large, six-building office complex, Peachtree Center has the ability to accommodate companies of any size and to scale tenants from small start-ups as they grow into large corporations, all under one ownership,” Younglove says. “In Peachtree Center, John Portman built what every developer in Atlanta would like to build right now, but can't due to a lack of available land and mass transit. It's a 24/7, mixed-use development connected to public transportation, featuring office, restaurant and retail space directly on top of MARTA, and all connected to world-class hotels.”

Here's an interesting fact. According to Younglove it would require rental rates of over $40 per square foot to recreate this type of development anywhere else in town. Peachtree Center rates are approximately half that cost.

“Peachtree Center unifies a community of office workers, tourists, and residents by offering the widest variety of popular eateries in Downtown,” Younglove says. “That's along with weekly events like the Green Market and Jazz Fridays, to create a sense of place and community for those who office here or pass through.”
