IRVINE, CA—Auction.com, has recruited former eBay executive Kristine Chin to serve as vice president of customer engagement reporting to CEO Tim Morse. In this newly-created role, Chin will be responsible for spearheading a cohesive and comprehensive, company-wide effort at Auction.com to gain a deeper understanding of its customers and raise awareness of their needs—now and into the future.
“Becoming a more customer-centric company is crucial to our long-term success and a foundational philosophy that we are very serious about,” said Morse. “Tapping into Kristine's experience, we look forward to developing new programs, processes and products that allow us to engage with our customers in even more meaningful ways.”
"I'm thrilled to come on board and help Auction.com disrupt the commercial and residential real estate markets," Chin said. "We have an opportunity to provide real estate buyers, sellers and the real estate professionals they work with an enhanced transaction experience that is simple, transparent, effective and approachable."
Chin recently concluded a 12-year run at eBay where she held positions of increasing responsibility, starting as a senior product manager supporting eBay's largest sellers, moving up to become general manager of eBay Motors, and finally leading eBay's North American Partner Strategy & Operations. Along the way, she created systems and processes that helped sellers get started and scale quickly on eBay; and developed expertise working with buyers and analyzing transactional data in order to optimize the user experience and sell-through rate. She was awarded a patent for features to display inventory to the right buyer in 2014, and she has filed for four other related patents matching sellers and products with interested buyers. Chin's experience also includes work with Rhapsody Networks and Netcom. She holds a BA from UC Berkeley and a Harvard MBA.
