DENVER—Sperry Van Ness is expanding its commercial real estate brokerage presence in Denver and throughout Colorado. The Sperry Van Ness (SVN) brokerage franchises in Denver, Fort Collins and Chicago, independently operated franchises to this point, said today they are partnering to create Sperry Van Ness/Denver Commercial.

The partnership is designed to accomplish two strategic goals for the firm. Immediately, it repositions the Denver office to offer a broader array of brokerage services throughout the metro area including leasing and sales for all major product types. It also expands the reach of both the Denver and Fort Collins offices allowing for future state-wide geographical growth. The relationship with Chicago will provide a unique brokerage connection to capital and investors from the Midwest. Chicago is the top producing franchise in the SVN network.

The six managing directors for Sperry Van Ness/Denver Commercial include Steve Kawulok, Troy Meyer and Kevin Matthews from Colorado; and Al Stepan, Michael Thanasouras and Scott Maesel from Chicago.

"We are very excited to now bring the Denver market a full complement of real estate brokerage services," said Kawulok. "The partnership creates a dynamic team of people and a unique collection of resources, including a direct link to investment capital in Chicago. Well established in the mid-market investment market, the platform and service delivery that Sperry Van Ness/Denver will offer is well suited for the private ownership and private capital markets."

Sperry Van Ness/Denver Commercial will specialize in the sale and leasing of industrial, office, multi-family, investment, retail and land properties throughout the greater Denver region, Colorado Springs, Northern Colorado and the Western Slope. The firm's Fort Collins-based Northern Colorado division opened in 2007.

SVN plans to increase its team of Denver-based brokers to 20 over the course of the next year. The aggressive growth plan calls for continued geographical expansion throughout the region and across asset classes. The new SVN/Denver office is located downtown at 710 W. Colfax.

Sperry Van Ness is one of the largest and fastest growing commercial real estate brokerage firms in the industry. The firm is known for being the only company in commercial brokerage that practices an all-inclusive "compensated cooperation" process: all competitive firms, brokers, and independent agents, along with all SVN advisors are included in the marketing effort and share 50% of the fees on any given transaction.
