OAKLAND, CA–The Hive, a mixed-use development in the heart of Oakland's revamped Uptown District located at 2335 Broadway, is a new concept using some great old materials. Comprised of six retail and restaurant storefronts, eight multi-use office spaces, eight converted lofts and 96 walk-up apartments, the Hive is designed as a platform to feature local culture and further the already-thriving Oakland business community.

Signature Development Group (SDG) is the developer of the project, which is part of the Broadway Valdez District Specific Plan to revitalize Uptown. The $50 million development is designed by Flynn Architecture and landscape architect, The Guzzardo Partnership, as a LEED neighborhood design development for its adaptive reuse of multiple historic buildings, proximity to public transportation and use of green building practices.

Michael Ghielmetti, founder and president of SDG, tells GlobeSt.com: “We've brought together a group of hand-selected merchants, restaurants, and innovative locally owned businesses that are true to the spirit of Oakland's Uptown neighborhood. We're proud of the senses of community created here and look forward to being a vital part of the city's future.”
