Oakland's Mixed Use Hive Creates Buzz

OAKLAND, CA–Uptown District's the Hive blends dining, retail, co-working, office and residential spaces with adaptive reuse of multiple historic buildings and proximity to public transportation.

OAKLAND, CA–The Hive, a mixed-use development in the heart of Oakland’s revamped Uptown District located at 2335 Broadway, is a new concept using some great old materials. Comprised of six retail and restaurant storefronts, eight multi-use office spaces, eight converted lofts and 96 walk-up apartments, the Hive is designed as a platform to feature local culture and further the already-thriving Oakland business community.

Signature Development Group (SDG) is the developer of the project, which is part of the Broadway Valdez District Specific Plan to revitalize Uptown. The $50 million development is designed by Flynn Architecture and landscape architect, The Guzzardo Partnership, as a LEED neighborhood design development for its adaptive reuse of multiple historic buildings, proximity to public transportation and use of green building practices.
