SAN FRANCISCO—Joseph Wallace has oversight of CBRE's seven offices and more than 1,175 professionals across service lines throughout San Francisco, Oakland and Silicon Valley. With two previous tenures at CBRE, he was recently named executive managing director of the Bay Area region, and shared his plans for client and civic outreach.

Wallace tells GlobeSt.com: "CBRE's Bay Area team members come to work every day ready to serve our clients and lead in our communities. Our work touches the lives of tens of thousands of Bay Area residents. Our vision for the future is to become the best at serving the dynamic commercial real estate needs of the world class enterprises that call the Bay Area home. Our goal for the future is simply to lead; we lead by solving our clients' biggest challenges, by delivering the best outcomes, by leveraging our depth and breadth across the firm, and by supporting this amazing community through our civic involvement."

Wallace previously led CBRE's occupier advisory and transaction services practice in the Washington D.C.-Baltimore region as senior managing director. In his new role, he will report to Steve Swerdlow, president, U.S. Western division.

“Against a competitive pool of many qualified external candidates, Joe's appointment to this very important leadership position demonstrates the strength of the talent that exists within our company today,” said Swerdlow. “Using the leadership and industry knowledge he has garnered over his nearly 30-year career in commercial real estate, Joe is the right leader to harness our talents, resources and expertise to deliver exceptional outcomes for our clients in the Bay Area.”

Prior to joining CBRE, Wallace served as chief executive officer of the Preferred Group LLC, a Washington D.C.-based serviced-office provider. Earlier in his career, he co-managed CBRE's Dallas office and served as executive vice president and chief operating officer of HQ Global Workplaces. Prior to that, Wallace served as an officer of CarrAmerica Realty Corporation.

"I am thrilled to be part of the powerful tradition that is CBRE in the San Francisco Bay Area. We are a $12 billion, Fortune 500 global enterprise, but we are very much a local company. Founded in San Francisco, we celebrated CBRE's 100th year here and have an important role in helping shape the places where our community works and lives. We are proud of our tradition and we are energized by the future," he concludes.

As previously reported, CBRE recently facilitated funding for a building in the Dogpatch District.
