IRVINE, CA—Auction.com says John Wilcox has joined the firm as senior vice president of commercial real estate finance. In this position, Wilcox will rely on his background in capital markets and operations to help guide Auction.com toward new initiatives involving financing and enhanced execution for buyers and sellers using the platform.
“John Wilcox is the right person to guide Auction.com's future initiatives that will help take our industry-leading marketplace to new heights,” said Gordon Smith, general manager of Auction.com's commercial real estate division. “John also brings experience working for three different brokerage firms as a leader in capital raising, in addition to a valuable background in building and integrating teams.”

Wilcox will work out of Auction.com's New York office. The 20-plus-year commercial real estate veteran comes most recently from Marcus & Millichap, where he was vice president, East Coast director of capital markets. While there, he managed operations for the firm's mortgage brokerage business.
Wilcox also was managing director and head of capital markets group at Savills (formerly Granite Partners). Prior to that, he served as senior vice president of capital markets for DTZ-Rockwood, where he helped found the firm's Financial Services Group, and as vice president and CFO for Ahern & Partners, a private real estate investment banking and advisory firm.
“Auction.com is the premier platform for online real estate transactions, and I'm eager to help the team enhance the platform's process for sellers and bidders for years to come,” Wilcox said.
