MESA, AZ—A 44,000-square-foot building was recently completed for METSO, the world's leading industrial company in the mining industries and flow control business. The building is part of METSO's service center network and provides a wide range of services primarily to mining and aggregate customers in the Southwestern United States and Northern Mexico. These services include field service and repair, spare and wear parts, and performance service solutions.

"This fully equipped repair and service center is part of a growing list of METSO service centers around the world–on six continents. It's about making an investment in not only our future, but our customers' future as well," says Randall R. Reisinger, senior vice president, services business line, mining and construction for METSO.

LGE Design Build completed the construction on behalf of METSO. David Sellers, president of LGE Design Build, tells GlobeSt.com: "LGE Design Build is proud to construct a high-quality building for Metso, which will help the mining and aggregates industry leader to advance its business."

The new facility at 8223 E. Pecos Rd. includes a large service area that houses two 60-ton bridge cranes as well as welding and machining bays. The bridge cranes enable METSO to service and repair large-scale mining equipment including grinding mills, crushers and screens. The facility, located on 10 acres, includes 50-foot clear height ceilings.

"METSO represents a huge undertaking for LGE Design Build. From accommodating the 60-ton bridge cranes to the machining bays, we constructed a building that will enable METSO to efficiently continue its leadership role," Sellers continues.

The building provides office space for 65 employees and has the capacity to hold up to an additional 40 employees.

"We designed the project to make an architectural reference to the geology of the earth, depicting mineral layers in the design and the color scheme for the building," said Sherm Cawley, president of Cawley Architects of Phoenix.
