NEW YORK CITY—Jason Vacker has been promoted to COO of Himmel + Meringoff Properties. His new responsibilities include oversight of all property/asset management, leasing, construction and marketing.
Formerly EVP and director of leasing for the company's entire 16-building, two-million-square-foot commercial office portfolio, Vakcer will continue to oversee leasing until his successor is announced.
"Having been with the company for nearly eight years, Jason has proven to be a natural at the business," says Farrell Virga, president and CEO of the firm. "Creative, innovative, dedicated and possessing a profound understanding of the real estate market, Jason's leadership qualities will serve him well in this important new position."
A member of REBNY and the current membership chairman of YM/WREA, Jason also is actively involved as a PENCIL partner.
He earned a BBA from the University of Wisconsin at Madison. An avid runner, he completed his first New York City Marathon in 2011.
The 35-year-old Himmel + Meringoff Properties operates one of the largest privately owned portfolios in Manhattan. Its approach to acquisitions includes joint ventures, net leases with options to buy and partial sale-leasebacks.
