NEW YORK CITY—Hunt Mortgage Group has hired Barry Polen as managing director, capital markets. He comes to Hunt Mortgage Group from Guggenheim Securities here, where he was a managing director, heading up the commercial real estate debt trading desk, and he also worked with Guggenheim's commercial real estate finance group on their securitization activities.

In Polen's new role, he will focus on expanding Hunt Mortgage Group's capital markets activities and its commercial lending business nationwide.

"Barry is an experienced, senior real estate finance executive that brings nearly 30 years of industry and management experience to his new role at Hunt Mortgage Group," notes Jon Trauben, senior managing director. "He is well known in the industry and has an impressive track record of success. We are pleased to have Barry join our team and look forward to tapping his expertise and leadership in growing our capital markets operation nationwide."

Prior to Guggenheim, Polen was a managing director at Credit Suisse, where he was the head of CMBS capital markets, a role he held for almost nine years. Before that he was a VP with Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, where he served as a CMBS bond structurer. Earlier in his career he held positions at Morgan Stanley as well as Ernst & Whinney.
