CINCINNATI—Al. Neyer has just hired Joseph A. Fleming to serve as its chief financial officer and executive vice president. He will lead its project capitalization in all markets, as well as oversee the company's treasury, accounting and human resources functions.

Fleming has more than 15 years of experience in finance and accounting and has spent more than 10 years with two real estate investment trusts, including the Cincinnati-based Phillips Edison Grocery Center REIT. As a senior financial officer, he led efforts to obtain more than $5 billion in debt financing, preparing REITs for listings on national stock exchanges, and overseeing earnings forecasting and firm valuations.

"Joe has a strong track record of growing successful relationships across the broad spectrum of debt and equity capital," says president and chief executive officer Molly North. "We are eager to add Joe's dynamic skill set to our bench to support our strategy of expansion in our existing regions as well as entry into new markets."

As reported in GlobeSt.com, earlier this year the board of directors appointed North its first female chief executive officer.

Fleming joins Al. Neyer after serving as senior vice president at Columbia, MD-based SK Research, LLC. Prior to that he held leadership positions at Phillips Edison & Co. in Cincinnati; Retail Properties of America in Oak Brook, IL. He began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Memphis and Las Vegas.

"Al. Neyer is regarded as an industry leader with a solid reputation for winning," says Fleming. "I am eager to dig in and bring my finance expertise to help lead the team and its goal of dominating the commercial real estate market."

Al. Neyer's recent projects include Seven @ Broadway, a $21 million, seven-story luxury apartment high rise tower in Downtown Cincinnati developed by North American Properties and NorthPointe Group; Gaslight Manor, a 117-unit luxury apartment development near the University of Cincinnati developed by Gaslight Property; Sterling Cut Glass, a 56,000 square-foot corporate headquarters, production facility and warehouse in Erlanger, KY; UC Health, a pair of matching 42,000 square-foot medical office buildings in Columbia Township, Cincinnati, and Florence, KY; and Don's Appliances, a 50,640 square-foot showroom, distributor center and service center in Robinson Township, PA.
