NEW YORK CITY—HKS Capital Partners has promoted senior mortgage broker Michael Lee to partner. He has originated loans at the firm since it was created in 2011.

While with the company, Lee has originated over 60 transactions valued at over $450 million. Today Lee also acts as a mentor and manages the firm's team of 13 brokers.

"Michael has become a heavy hitter in the industry," says Jerry Swartz, co-founder of the company—along with Ayush Kapahi and John Harrington. "He works tirelessly for every client while using HKS Capital's close lending relationships to originate uniquely tailored loans."

Lee's two biggest deals this past year included a $30 million loan to refinance a retail and office building on Fifth Avenue and three loans totaling $26 million for three brownstones on Manhattan's Upper West Side.

Other recent Lee transactions include a non-recourse ground up construction of a 50 unit rental building in Manhattan, an acquisition of a vacant multi-family building in Brooklyn and a 10-year self-amortizing loan for a prime office and retail building in Tribeca.
