NEW YORK CITY—FirstService Residential has brought in a pair of apartment management veterans to bolster its expanding rental management division. John MacGowan and Marc Kaplan have joined the firm as managing directors, and will lead the division's growth while providing operational oversight of the company's current rental portfolio in New York City.

Kaplan spent 12 years as VP of asset and property management at Stonehenge Management, where he devised and implemented strategies to reposition assets and streamline management operations. He led a property management team charged with overseeing a 27-building rental portfolio comprising more than 3,500 units. Additionally, Kaplan brings extensive knowledge of New York City's rent stabilization laws and practices to FirstService Residential.

A 15-year veteran of property management, MacGowan is joining FirstService Residential following his previous role as a property manager for Rose Associates. There, he oversaw an 1,150-unit portfolio of Manhattan luxury rental properties.

FirstService Residential's portfolio here comprises nearly 200 properties and more than 4,200 units across the five boroughs. The company manages New York by Gehry at 8 Spruce St., 20 Exchange Place, 63 & 67 Wall Street and QLIC, Long Island City's newest luxury rental tower.
