NEW YORK CITY—Five vacant warehouses in Brooklyn are being refurbished to create space for the job-generating technology and creative firms. The investment and development partnershp of Heritage Equity Partners and Lichtenstein Group have revealed plans to redevelop the interconnected warehouses at 215 Moore St. in Bushwick.

Led by Heritage CEO Toby Moskovits, the 75,000-square-foot "Bushwick Generator"—as the planned complex is being called—offers light industrial, office, and retail spaces ranging from 1,500 square feet to 20,000 square feet.

"New entrepreneurs are making things again, resurrecting and redefining manufacturing—and as has happened so many times before, Brooklyn is leading the way," Moskovits declares. "Creating a place for these industries in Bushwick is the key to maximizing opportunity in the local community, growing good-paying, accessible jobs and ultimately fostering entrepreneurs who live in the neighborhood."

Last month, the property signed its first tenant, cloud-based mapping, analysis, and visualization engine firm CartoDB, which leased 7,500 square feet. Brooklyn-based ABS Partners has been retained as the exclusive office leasing agent for the property.

"Today's innovative companies want to be a part of and contribute to the unique, creative energy of Bushwick," says Ben Waller, head of ABS' Brooklyn office. "The Bushwick Generator offers these companies the flexible, open and modern spaces they're looking for in the center of this vibrant community."

Located one block from the Morgan Avenue L train stop and close to the J and M subway lines, the Bushwick Generator is surrounded by well-known eateries such as Roberta's Pizza, as well as many shops and art galleries.
