HOUSTON--Houston-based Baker Katz has completed its 90,000-square-foot multi-tenant center in Port Arthur, with the opening of a 13,000-square-foot PetSmart.

"We are proud to re-introduce this formerly vacant property to Port Arthur residents," Kenneth Katz told GlobeSt.com. "The updates we made resulted in attracting outstanding national retailers that will serve the community well."

The former Sutherlands Hardware was transformed into a multi-tenant retail center with the addition of other national anchor tenants, including a 57,000-square-foot Hobby Lobby, and a 14,000-square-foot Party City. Chipotle, Firehouse Subs and Gulfside Dental, which will open by early 2016, will occupy a 7,000-square-foot building in the foreground of the project.
