Design Firm Shifts South Within Midtown

NEW YORK CITY—The company is moving to Madison Ave. in the lower thirties from West 40th Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, spotlighting this roundup of recent deals.

NEW YORK CITY—In a relocation within Midtown, Bernhardt Design has signed a ten-year, 20,000-square-foot lease at 136 Madison Ave., where it will take office and showroom space. The owner of the 150,000-square-foot building—who was not identified at press time—was represented by Colliers International tri-state vice chairman Andrew Roos and tri-state president Michael T. Cohen. The tenant was represented by Cresa New York principals Ed Wartels and Jim Pirot.

The Museum of Modern Art Design Store has renewed its 15,000-square-foot lease at 81 Spring St. for another 15 years. The sole retail tenant at the landmarked Soho property was represented in the transaction by Simon Dallimore of Dallimore & Co. The building’s private owner was represented by Colliers’ Marvin Rosenberg, Pat Breslin, Ken Yip, and April Kim.
