CLEVELAND—In many parts of the Midwest, specialty grocers, especially those that deal in healthy, organic foods, have become especially attractive to landlords. One of the fastest growing is Fresh Thyme Farmers Market, and it has just committed to a long-term lease for about 30,000 square feet at Golden Gate Shopping Center in east suburban Mayfield Heights. The new store, which will also offer local produce, will open its doors in later this winter.

"When we acquired Golden Gate Shopping Center, we committed to revitalizing it and breathing fresh life and dynamic tenancy into it and we've already begun fulfilling those promises," says Daren W. Hornig, managing partner at New York-based Hornig Capital Partners, which along with Hutensky Capital Partners and B&D Holdings owns the center. "Fresh Thyme is a perfect addition to the fine stores we have in place."

As reported in GlobeSt.com, the partners bought the center in 2014 from Forest City Enterprises for $47 million. It was one of the largest single asset retail deals in the greater Cleveland market during the previous 24 months.
