PHOENIX—The Arizona component of The American Institute of Architects announced the 2015 Design Award Winners, recognizing excellence in design, planning and construction of projects designed by AIA Arizona architects registered and licensed in the state of Arizona. There are three levels of recognition: honor, merit and citation, with the honor award the most prestigious.

Selected from 93 submissions, 28 recipients were recently honored at the Phoenix Art Museum. The award recipients were chosen by a distinguished group of architects from San Francisco. The jury was chaired by Rosa Sheng, AIA; David Baker, FAIA; Joshua Aidlin, AIA and Dominique Price, AIA.

Diane ReicherJacobs, AIA, principal, Holly Street Studio Architects, tells GlobeSt.com: "The entries for the 2015 AIA AZ Design Awards were an outstanding selection of the best Arizona has to offer … thoughtful, sustainable, context-driven work with the highest level of design detailing and an eye toward the community at large. As Arizona architects are demonstrating that creating place is not only a design endeavor but an act of social stewardship. Arizona's design tradition endures, as our state grows you will see continued excellence delivered by a strong roster of local architects … stay tuned."
