NEW YORK CITY—Veteran title insurance attorney Timothy Oberweger has jointed TitleVest as managing director of business development and counsel. Also an active industry leader with several organizations, he joins the firm—which is part of the First American family of companies—from Fidelity National Title.

Oberweger brings to TitleVest more than a decade of experience at national title insurance companies in a wide variety of areas, including commercial, retail, energy, industrial, hotel, gaming, office, multifamily and residential real estate transactions.

He served as VP, business development and counsel at Fidelty for over six years, and began his career at First American Title. In his new role, he will work to drum up new business for the firm.

Beyond his title experience, Oberweger is an active participant in the real estate community. He is a founding member of the Real Estate Services Alliance, chairman of the Young Mortgage Bankers Association and he sits on the steering committee of the Real Estate Executives Council of the United Jewish Appeal- Federation of New York.

"TitleVest has made itself the technology leader in title insurance and that's why I'm here," he tells GlobeSt.com. "We have tools like an interactive report, which allows attorneys and principals to jump online at 2 a.m. and make comments in their reports, which we get alerted to instantly. It streamlines the process."

He continues, "TitleVest's use of cutting-edge technology to maximize speed and efficiency aligns with my vision for providing value in today's marketplace," he says.

"Timothy is extremely well-versed in the complexities of title insurance as they relate to the real estate industry as a whole," says Brian Tormey, president of TitleVest. "I look forward to working alongside Timothy on new business development strategy and on enhancing the TitleVest experience for our existing client base."
