NEW YORK CITY—Colliers International has hired industry veteran Bruce Weinberg as an executive managing director, GlobeSt.com has learned EXCLUSIVELY.
Prior to joining Colliers, Weinberg held the same title at DTZ (formerly Cassidy Turley), and before that he served as a managing director at CBRE.
Throughout his career, Weinberg has arranged almost $2.5 billion worth of commercial real estate transactions locally, nationally and internationally both for tenants (public and private corporations, law and accounting firms, and entrepreneurial/privately held firms) and property owners (institutional, REITs, investor, family owned, and controlled assets).
In his role with Colliers International, Weinberg will continue to focus on tenant and landlord representation, supporting the brokerage team led by tri-state vice chairman Andrew Roos and tri-state president Michael Cohen.
Among some of Weinberg's most notable office transactions have been a 534,000-square-foot lease for the United Nations at 380 Madison Avenue; a 325,000-square-foot lease for Universal/Polygram at 825 Eighth Ave.; a 272,000-square-foot negotiated buyout for Bertelsmann, Inc. at 666 Fifth Ave.; and a 100,000-square-foot long-term retail lease for Bergdorf Goodman at 745 Fifth Ave.
Weinberg has also represented Mitsui & Co. since 1989, arranging more than a dozen transactions totaling over 440,000 square feet of space for the firm nationally, including three lease renewals at 200 Park Ave.
"We are excited to welcome such an experienced member of New York City's commercial brokerage community into our growing brokerage division," says Joseph Harbert, president of Colliers' eastern region. "With extensive knowledge in navigating large deals and a keen ability to maintain longstanding tenant and owner relationships, Bruce will be an excellent addition to our firm."
