HOUSTON--Applied Optoelectronics Inc. (AOI) and Skanska USA recently celebrated a topping-out ceremony of the new expansion building adjacent to the current AOI headquarters in Sugar Land.
The new expansion projects include two buildings. The first building under construction is a 106,000-square-foot, three-story concrete facility. Additionally, Skanska topped out a second 10,000-square-foot building.
Officials with AOI were unable to offer additional comments as of press time.
This $30-million expansion project is expected to be completed by April 2016. Yong Architects Inc. is the project architect. B. Bell Builders Inc., a local general contractor, is also part of the construction team.
