AUSTIN--Aspen Heights Partners, a real estate development firm known nationally for its successful student-housing projects, has announced plans to expand into the multifamily market.

Targeting key locations across the country, including Austin, the company is "actively looking for both land and equity partners to co-invest in urban areas with high demand and occupancy rates."

One of eight projects currently under construction, Aspen Heights Partners is developing The Independent, the 58-story residential high-rise that will be the tallest building in Austin and the tallest residential building west of the Mississippi.

"Our successful history in the student housing space has provided us with knowledge and experience in the areas of creating innovative, livable communities and strong property management and marketing skills. This background, coupled with in-house expertise for the multifamily space and strong capital resources, will allow for further expansion into this arena," Kevin Wisdom, Aspen Heights executive vice president of development, told GlobeSt.com.

With a track record of innovative design and highly-amentitized facilities, Aspen Heights will continue offering units with open floor plans, natural lighting and upscale kitchens and bathrooms, accompanied with concierge-type services and integrated into walkable, pedestrian-oriented areas.
