PORTLAND, OR—Cresa LLC, the world's largest commercial real estate advisory firm specializing in tenant representation, continues its domestic growth with the recent reopening of Cresa Portland. The firm also announced plans to fortify itself as the leading "pure tenant rep advisory firm" serving the Greater Portland and Greater Vancouver, WA, region.
Located at 317 SW Alder St., Cresa Portland provides a full range of corporate real estate advisory services, including strategic planning, transaction management, project management, consulting, and facilities management for the office and industrial sectors.
The office is headed by industry veteran Sean Heaton, senior vice president, as well as SVP Scott Churchill and the extensive local, national, and global resources in the Cresa network.
According to Richard Rhodes, Cresa's CEO and a managing principal, Cresa has established an aggressive business plan for Portland, with the addition of 10 professionals projected within the next two years and 30 upon the firm's maturation. "In short order, we expect to be the preeminent, pure tenant rep firm in the Portland area with a platform that only represents tenants, not landlords, and thereby avoids conflicts of interest," said Rhodes. "There is significant demand for our service model here, and we are already working with multiple clients to meet their requirements locally and beyond." Heaton, a former senior director at Cushman & Wakefield with 22 years of industry experience, was drawn to Cresa because of its tenant rep model, noting that traditional real estate firms can be compromised in serving the best interests of organizations in the region since they have a fiduciary obligation to their landlord clients. "We are already filling a great void for pure tenant advocacy in this area and see enormous opportunities for growth," said Heaton, a licensed principal real estate broker. Heaton previously worked at Fischer & Company and as a development partner with Pananttoni Development Company.
"We are committed to a long-term investment in this region, and Sean and Scott are great fits whom we expect will build an outstanding team," said Bill Baldwin, a Cresa managing principal and member of the board of directors. "Cresa's value proposition is that we are the leaders among unbiased tenant rep firms, we have a deep network of corporate resources, and we remain a strong, stable, independent firm that has bucked the industry trend toward acquisition and consolidation."
