NEW YORK CITY—Medallion Financial Corp. has extended its 18,650 square-foot lease at 437 Madison Ave. The specialty finance company servicing the taxicab, recreational vehicle and home improvement has signed a 10-year lease renewal for the entire 38th floor at the 40-story, 850,000-square-foot office building owned by the William Kaufman Organization. The company has been a tenant at the building since 1997. Michael Lenchner, VP and director of leasing at Sage Realty Corp., the leasing and management division of WKO, represented the building's ownership in-house in the long-term transaction, while Paul Davidson and William Mendelson of Newmark Grubb Knight Frank represented the tenant. Asking rents in the building are from $80 to $110 per rentable square foot.

Expedia has leased more than 9,000 square feet on the 72nd floor of the Empire State Building. Brian Hay, Tim Hay, Sacha Zarba and Robert Hill of CBRE represented the tenant in the lease negotiations. Empire State Realty Trust, the landlord of the iconic Midtown building, was represented by Fred Posniak and Shanae Ursini of ESRT, along with Paul Glickman, Jonathan Fanuzzi, Kip Orban and Harley Dalton of JLL.

Janovic Paint & Decorating Center has relocated from its previous SoHo location at 161 6th Ave. to the Northwest corner of Broome and Thompson Streets at 55 Thompson St. The retail address of the store is 520 Broome St. Consisting of approximately 6,947 square-feet of ground floor space, the store features over 150 feet of frontage wrapping the corner of Broome and Thompson Streets. The tenant signed a 15-year lease on the property and was represented by Corey Zolcinski who at the time was with SRS Real Estate Partners and has since moved to JLL.

New York Kids Club has signed a long-term lease at 1827 First Ave., located on the Northwest Corner of First Avenue and East 94th St. The 3,824-square-foot space sits at the base of the Chesapeake, a 208-unit luxury rental apartment building owned by Fetner. Winick Realty Group president Steven Baker represented the landlord, along with Aaron S. Fishbein and Jeremy Wintner. The tenant was represented by Neal Ohm of Neil Cabot Ohm.

Peter Braus, managing principal, and JP Sutro, managing director of Lee & Associates NYC, have arranged a 15-year lease for Sandwicherie of New York at 78 W. 3rd Street at Thompson Street, in Greenwich Village. Brad Schwarz, senior managing director/principal of Lee & Associates NYC, represented the tenant. The space has been completely redeveloped with 1,800 square feet on the ground floor and 1,800 square feet below grade, excavated as a selling level.

Beauty product retailer Bluemercury has inked a lease for a new store at 275 Greenwich St., located at the southeast corner of Warren Street in Tribeca. Spanning about 2,000 square feet of ground floor space and an additional 800 square feet of space at the basement level, the new location also features over 100 feet of wrap-around frontage. The 275 Greenwich Street location is expected to open in spring 2016. Joshua Roth, VP of retail leasing at Manhattan Skyline Management Corp. represented the landlord. RKF senior associate Tess Jacoby represented the tenant.

Eastern Consolidated's retail leasing division has arranged a 10-year, 1,000-square-foot lease at 304 E. 49th Street for Poulette, a rotisserie chicken restaurant chain with two other locations in the city. Eastern's James Famularo, principal and senior director of the retail leasing division, and Ravi Idnani, director, negotiated the lease for the ground floor and basement space in the four-story walk-up between First and Second Avenues. The building's owner, Solil Management, was represented by in-house by Brett Weinblatt.
