AUSTIN – Hillwood Communities, a Perot company, announced today the appointment of real estate professional Duke Kerrigan as general manager of its Austin region.

Duke, who earned his Business Administration degree in Finance from Texas Christian University, has a background in real estate acquisitions, securing entitlements, project capitalization, project management, strategic planning and sales and marketing.

He was most recently a director at Hines, where he was employed for over a decade. Duke will oversee Hillwood's master-planned community projects and future acquisitions and developments in Austin.

Hillwood launched its latest project in Austin with the groundbreaking of Georgetown's largest master-planned development, Wolf Ranch, a 755-acre tract on Highway 29 and Interstate 35 in December 2015. The $700 million project will entail a master-planned community of 1600 single-family units that feature resort style amenities and space for new retail venues and restaurants.

"Having Duke join our team was a strategic and timely move for Hillwood," said Fred Balda, president of Hillwood Communities. "His extensive experience in the industry will help us immensely in pursuing our plans to grow in Austin, the fastest growing city in the United States, and to continue to provide first-class communities to its residents."
