Global Travel Company's Montvale HQ Will 'Tour the World'

MONTVALE, NJ— FC USA, a wholly owned subsidiary of Flight Centre Limited in Australia, which includes 14 brands spanning retail, wholesale and corporate travel in its portfolio, will be creating its own little corner of the world with a novel, geographic-themed office complex in its newly leased space at 5 Paragon Drive in Montvale, NJ. The company, whose travel brands include Liberty Travel , is leasing 70,863 square feet at the Lone Star Funds-owned, class A, 119,254 -s quare-foot commercial office building. It’s the renovations that will take employees around the world in their office. The interior renovation project will entail a gut renovation of the entire second floor and a portion of the first floor. The new design is based on a “Tour of The World,” and FC USA’s offices will be divided into global regions: the United States, Africa, Southeast Asia, Western Europe, Middle East, the Caribbean, Scandinavia and Australia. The main corridor will be called “The Equator” and the lounge will be named “The Lido Deck.” The design eliminates physical barriers between regions, creating separation with rooms and building elements. Each region’s color scheme of materials and finishes and branding/graphic images will reflect that area’s design flavor and aesthetics. FC USA was represented by Phillip Lipper , executive vice president, and Thomas Reilly and Scott Lesh , managing directors, all with Jones Lang LaSalle . Building owner Lone Star Funds was represented by Gregory Barkan , senior vice president, CBRE . “ FC USA was looking for larger premises that could accommodate its vision for a headquarters that would reflect the company’s brand and mission,” says JLL’s Lipper . “ JLL was able to find an ideal location at 5 Paragon Drive . JLL will also oversee the renovation effort. Once FC USA’s space is completed, a tour of its new headquarters will be like taking a trip around the world.” FC USA signed a 15-plus-year lease for 70,863 square feet of office space and will occupy a portion of the first floor and the entire second floor at 5 Paragon Drive , which is located near the intersection of Paragon Drive and West Grand Avenue. The company is relocating from its previous offices at 69 Spring Street in Ramsey, NJ. JLL was selected as project manager for the interior renovation effort, as well as to provide energy and sustainability services to assist FC USA in qualifying for LEED Silver Certification for commercial interiors. JLL will manage all aspects of the build-out, incorporating ESS technology and standards to ensure the client’s space achieves LEED certification. The effort will be led by John Vivino , vice president, and Jasmine Amoso , senior project manager, both with JLL . Daniel Breen , executive vice president and head of JLL’s Business and Economic Incentives group in the tri-state region, was instrumental in obtaining incentives for the project. The two-story 5 Paragon Drive was constructed in 1984 and occupies 16.57 acres of land located a few blocks from Exit 172 off the Garden State Parkway.
