Westlake Dermatology The development provides an alternative to a downtown location, but with all of the same benefits.
AUSTIN, TX—As Austin’s job growth continues, office space attempts to keep up and retail space is a close second. Locations near housing are a must. Once such mixed-use offering is Lamar Central . With a broad tenant mix at centrally located development, it situated near downtown in a major employment center and in close proximity to a wide variety of housing options located at 3800 North Lamar Blvd. The development provides an alternative to a downtown location, but with all of the same benefits–restaurants and retail, walkability and access to various modes of transit, parks and trails. Lamar Central offers its tenants proximity to residential neighborhoods with north/south access along MoPac and crosstown access along 38th and 45th streets. Westlake Dermatology recently signed a 10-year lease on the ground floor of the building, according to Highland Resources Inc. While the majority of the building is leased, retail and office spaces are still available. Construction of Lamar Central was completed in October 2015. Jeff Simmons , acquisitions and operations manager at Highland Resources, tells GlobeSt.com: “Lamar Central is a great fit for Westlake Dermatology, and the company’s newest location is a very welcomed addition to the development. Westlake Dermatology will be able to offer employee and customer parking, as well as easy access from MoPac and east/west thoroughfares, 38th Street and 45th Street.” Gregory Nikolaidis founded Westlake Dermatology in Austin in 2002. Since then, the practice has expanded to a multi-specialty group comprised of 17 physicians and 135 employees with Texas locations in Westlake, Downtown Austin, North Austin, South Austin, Lakeway, Round Rock and Marble Falls. The site at Lamar Central marks its eighth location in the Austin area. Westlake’s space will face Lamar Boulevard and feature a design by Michael Hsu Office of Architecture . Design and layout includes six treatment rooms and additional retail space.
