HOUSTON—Justin Leighton, leader of Transwestern's Houston tenant advisory services team, has been promoted to executive managing director. Since 2013, the team has significantly increased service line revenue and doubled in size, ensuring quality service for its client roster. In 2015, the team completed 1.17 million square feet of leases globally.
Leighton oversees the development and implementation of strategic tenant advisory initiatives while maintaining an active brokerage role. He was the top tenant advisory services producer nationally for 2014 production and is positioned to be named among the top 10 producers nationally for all service lines for 2015 production.
“Justin has been an invaluable addition to Transwestern's tenant advisory services platform,” said Southwest president Kevin Roberts. “Not only is he dedicated to growing a successful business and delivering extraordinary service to his clients, but he also is committed to the career development of his teammates and mentoring our next generation of talent.”
Tenant advisory services team members, Jim Cummins and Victor Valenzuela, two members of Leighton's team, also have been promoted to vice president.
“Jim and Victor have an outstanding work ethic and a complete focus on successful outcomes for their clients,” said Leighton. “They are both highly dedicated and talented, and their long-term view of relationships has led to considerable successes. They deserve this received this well-earned recognition.”
Some of the team's notable Houston transactions include a 102,492-square-foot lease and a 57,058-square-foot lease.
Leighton tells GlobeSt.com: “We plan to continue to grow the team with the people who will give us the foundation to succeed in the ultra-competitive Houston real estate market. We believe the best way to keep top young talent is to treat them with respect–the same way we would treat our own family members. Being a great player-coach means one has to get more satisfaction out of helping others succeed than one gets out of his or her own success. The most important part of having a real team in which everyone trusts one another is to treat everyone equally. There is no delineation between young brokers, assistants, our financial analyst and me. We work together and we also have fun together.”
