CHICAGO—It has been a very long time since Elgin has seen new, luxury apartment units, but Interstate Partners, LLC is set to break ground next month on Watermark at the Grove, a 258-unit luxury development at northwest corner of Northwest Pkwy. and N. Randall Rd. The developer has chosen the building division of Kinzie Real Estate Group as its general contractor. “Our proven reputation as a preferred provider for pre-development, due diligence, project management, product development and build-out, positions Kinzie Builders as the go-to specialist in the construction of luxury rental communities,” says Steve Spinell , principal of Chicago-based Kinzie. Located just one mile from I-90, the 11-acre development will also be just minutes from Advocate Sherman Hospital , DeVry University , and several business corridors, giving their employees the opportunity to live near where they work. Floor plans for the five three-story buildings include studios, one- and two-bedroom options. “The residences at Watermark at the Grove will answer a strong demand for luxury rental options in the South Elgin area,” adds Spinell. “We’ve worked on a number of luxury suburban rentals and this one has all the key components to be successful. Nearby dining and retail options as well as proximity to Randall Road’s restaurant row are expected to play a big role in generating excitement among area renters.” The first phase of construction will include a resort-style clubhouse with event space, fitness facility, theater room and outdoor pool as well as the first of five residential buildings. Other amenities include secure, underground parking, as well as bicycle parking and 4 acres of open space with a dog park and walking trails. “Kinzie Real Estate Group has experienced exponential growth over the past five years and we’re always honored to work with high-profile development firms like Interstate Partners. It will be great to have a role in bringing a new residential option to this commercially dense corridor,” Spinell says.
