DALLAS— MYCON General Contractors has recruited John T. “Tommy” Campbell as its vice president of operations. The 28-year construction veteran is well respected for his operational excellence and track record as vice president of operations for Balfour Beatty . “It is great to be part of a company that is experiencing such success in the North Texas region,” says Campbell. “MYCON has a strong reputation for delivering quality projects and developing loyal customer relationships. My goal is to enhance our operations so that we can deliver excellence across the board.” In this position, Campbell will be responsible for defining and meeting critical project goals and timelines, tracking and advising on construction trends and opportunities, establishing and directing the firm’s field and staff training programs, recruiting field personnel, and guiding organizational support among the firm’s estimating, project management, accounting and marketing groups. “Tommy Campbell is a well-respected industry leader, and his knowledge and skills will be a great asset throughout our operations,” says Doug Talley , president of the firm. Prior to joining MYCON, Campbell spent 28 years with one of the nation’s top general contractors, Balfour Beatty. Campbell has managed more than $1 billion in construction projects across the US with a primary focus on the Texas market, and has been responsible for establishing, developing and managing top-performing teams on large complex projects.
