NEW YORK CITY—Veteran commercial broker Steven Gomez has joined Cignature Realty Associates Inc . as a managing director. Bringing more than 20 years of experience to the position, the new hire will help oversee the company’s expansion and sales strategy, says Lazer Sternhell , CEO of Cignature Realty. Gomez most recently served as president of Business Advisory Partners Inc., a multi-state commercial brokerage and advisory company. Previously, he was a managing director with CBRE where he started and led the firm’s national restructuring practice that garnered the Federal Deposit Insurance Corp. national account for disposition of distressed commercial real estate debt and assets. He also created CBRE’s regional broker training program. Prior to CBRE, he was sales manager for the Manhattan office of Marcus & Millichap with responsibilities for broker recruitment, training and management. “Steven’s background in identifying and mentoring commercial real estate sales talent is a perfect fit for us,” says Sternhell. “His experience and expertise at the intersection of technology and real estate will also help us leverage our research, CRM and other capabilities.” At Cignature Realty, Gomez will be responsible for the development, training and deployment of new sales agents and associates, as well serving on the company’s executive committee. Last month, Cignature Realty was the sole broker in the more than $25-million sale of a 47-unit mixed-use building in the Hamilton Heights section of Manhattan by Sugar Hill Capital Partners to Brooklyn-based multifamily landlord Galil Management—formerly known as E&M Associates. The six-story, 65,050-square-foot building at 3621 Broadway is an elevator building with 47 apartments, eight stores and an art studio.
