chi-DSContainers1 (2) CHICAGO—Every week seems to bring a new indication of the strength of the Chicago region's industrial sector. CenterPoint Properties has just announced that it will construct a 250,575 square foot build-to-suit expansion for DS Containers, Inc.'s building at the DuPage Business Center in suburban West Chicago. CenterPoint officials tell GlobeSt.com that the original building was completed on December 19, 2015. This expansion, which they plan to finish by November, will bring the building to 550,853 total square feet and accommodate the company's growing operations. Rich Brolly and Gerard Keating , represented DS Containers in the transaction, while Dominic Carbonari and Frank Griffin of JLL represented CenterPoint. “It is great to immediately follow up a development with an expansion and to see DuPage Business Center provide DS Containers the opportunity to keep expand their operation,” says Ed Harrington , senior vice president, development of CenterPoint. DS Containers sits alongside New Continuum and Simpson Manufacturing Co. at DuPage Business Center. Its build-to-suit expansion will house the company's manufacturing operations – including a 10-ton crane. The company manufactures two-piece polymer-coated steel aerosol cans and offers overcaps, bag on valves, liquid pour overcaps, and polymer-coated steel products for aerosols and liquid/viscous products. With this expansion, the building will have 25,183 square feet of office space, 22 exterior dock doors and 139 car parking spaces across 25 acres. John Duffy , vice president and chief financial officer of DS Containers, says “the new facility will have thickened floor slabs and other sufficient infrastructure in place to help us enhance our business.” chi-DSContainers1 (2) CHICAGO—Every week seems to bring a new indication of the strength of the Chicago region's industrial sector.
