NEWPORT BEACH, CA—After meeting and collaborating with community organizations and carefully assessing local priorities, Newport Center Anacapa Associates, LLC , a Newport Beach-based real estate developer,has unveiled plans for 150 Newport Center , a seven-story, 49-unit residential condominium development located at Newport Center Drive and Anacapa Drive adjacent to Fashion Island . 150 Newport Center will offer residents the luxuries of modern urban resort living more compatible with the next phase of their lives, the company says.

“We saw a unique opportunity in an unbelievable city for the very best location. We assembled the most qualified professional team and immediately established the expectation for 150 Newport Center to become the greatest residential product of its kind that Newport Beach has ever seen,” said Ron Soderling , principal at Newport Center Anacapa Associates, LLC. “From this location residents will be able to walk to nearby entertainment venues, enjoy fine dining at a variety of restaurants directly in the vicinity, and be able to take advantage of convenient access to all of the retail shopping options that Fashion Island has to offer.” Designed in the contemporary classic style to complement the surrounding community, 150 Newport Center will serve as an architectural work of public art in Newport Center. Simulation studies have confirmed that 150 Newport Center will not block or obscure any public views. Increased setbacks from the property line ensure a unique building design. The developer’s proposed use for this 1.3-acre parcel at the current site of the Newport Beach Car Wash will reduce traffic along Pacific Coast Highway , MacArthur Boulevard and Jamboree Road by 75% from the current use, save nearly 2,000 gallons of water per day, and contribute an estimated $4.8 million of project development fees that will be used to offset the costs of providing municipal services thereby benefitting Newport Beach residents, the developer says. Newport Center Anacapa Associates, LLC selected Irvine-based architect, MVE + Partners, Inc. , and Irvine, California-based general contractor Snyder Langston for the project. “Newport Beach residents are very protective of the environment and quality of life that exists in this beautiful city. 150 Newport Center is going to be a project that the community will be very proud of,” said Carl McLarand , founder and chairman of the board for MVE + Partners. “This project is an opportunity for the City of Newport Beach to provide its existing residents with a place to reside in their maturing years. It is a timely opportunity to reduce adverse environmental impacts and change this property to a much higher and better use.”
