DEA's current headquarters at 600-700 Army-Navy Dr., in Arlington, VA

WASHINGTON, DC—The General Services Administration published a solicitation notice seeking 478,607 square feet for a government agency, presumably the US Drug Enforcement Agency, whose headquarters lease at 600-700 Army-Navy Dr., in Arlington, VA expires in September 2018.

The maximum annual rental rate is set at $22.4 million and the term is for 15 years. The space can be in one building or two that are 250 linear feet apart. Most importantly, GSA requires that the space be within 2,640 linear feet of an existing Metrorail station.

  • 511,000 square feet for the Social Security Administration, currently housed at 1500 and 1718 Woodlawn Dr., in Woodlawn, MD.
  • 115,000 square feet for the Department of State employees currently at 2121 Virginia Ave., NW.
  • 105,000 square feet for the Federal Election Commission, which is currently at 999 E St., NW.
  • 97,000 square feet for the Department of Veterans Affairs, currently at 801 Eye St., NW.
  • 43,000 square feet for the Army Corp. of Engineers, currently housed at 10 South Howard St., in Baltimore.
