Retail Vet Gets Nod for EVP Role at NewQuest

HOUSTON—Parker is currently working on various retail projects in Greater Houston, Austin, Lubbock, TX, San Marcos, TX and Waco, TX.

Terry Parker Parker says the industry is meeting good times with good management.
HOUSTON—A 40-year veteran of commercial real estate, Terry Parker , has been hired by NewQuest Crosswell as an executive vice president. He will be involved in the build-to-suit retail division of the firm. In his long career, Parker has been involved in the development of automotive centers, banks, healthcare facilities, retail centers, quick-service, casual and fine dining restaurants, convenience stores and retail locations for national chains throughout the country. He is currently working on various retail projects in Greater Houston, Austin, Lubbock, TX, San Marcos, TX and Waco, TX in addition to developments in the Greater Atlanta MSA, Florida, Michigan and New Mexico. Parker tells GlobeSt.com: “I have navigated through many economic cycles over the years but 2008 through 2010 was one of the worst storms I have ever seen and something I hope to never work through again. Up until the downturn in 2008, many of us had begun to confuse good management with good times. Today, we are meeting good times with good management. Our threshold for difficulty has risen as we reach for every great opportunity that comes our way. Developing opportunities and seeing them through to completion hasn’t become any easier.” Parker is a graduate of The University of Texas Austin and a member of ICSC . NewQuest Crosswell is a privately held real estate investment firm and division of Houston-based NewQuest Properties .
