Courtyard by Marriott The area has more than 6 million square feet of corporate headquarters and regional offices built or announced.
THE COLONY, TX—A grand opening event will be held on Thursday, April 28 to feature the unveiling of the Courtyard by Marriott . The Courtyard will join Fairfield Inn & Suites and Residence Inn within the Cascades at The Colony . The hotel is operated by Crescent Hotels & Resorts . The 100-acre mixed-use campus was developed by Jackson-Shaw to establish a commercial development along the north side of Sam Rayburn Tollway (SH121). Aiming to enhance the dining and entertainment scene of The Colony and North Texas, the development will also be home to a neighborhood dining experience, The Oasis at Cascades . The Oasis will include an outdoor patio to meld an array of gathering spaces and features from four distinct restaurants, including mezzanine rooftop restaurant areas. “With more than 6 million square feet of nearby corporate headquarters and regional offices built or announced, Cascades at The Colony is well-positioned to meet both existing and increasing hospitality demand,” said Michele Wheeler , president and chief operating officer of Jackson-Shaw. During the grand opening event from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m., photography will be showcased from notable American photographer Laura Wilson . “That Day: Pictures in the American West,” is a collection of photos that illustrate the artist’s vision of her adopted home region across the span of her career from the 1970s to present. Select photographs from this series are positioned throughout the hotel highlighting the modern Texas theme. “We are privileged to work with the city of The Colony and receive their support for anchoring the Cascades and the Marriott Campus in the City by the Lake,” said Wheeler. “The Colony is a vibrant community with strong economic growth and we look forward to seeing The Cascades embrace the city’s residents and visitors of North Texas.” The Fairfield Inn, Residence Inn and the new Courtyard are all accepting reservations. Wheeler tells GlobeSt.com: “Courtyard by Marriott is a terrific addition to the Cascades portfolio and we look forward to working with all three hotels bringing authentic hospitality to the residents and visitors of The Colony area. We believe the Marriott brands and the Cascades development will attract a combination of both leisure and business travelers to the area.”
